From Hungary, I crossed into Romania the next morning and drove until Bucharest. If you haven’t been, it’s a beautiful city.
I actually tried to find 3 different places from Happy Cow while in Bucharest, and all of the map markers were for some non-existent address. I couldn’t find any of them and wound up having falafel at a Turkish restaurant.
I stumbled into a carnival of some sort and walked around. It was really intersting, but I felt strange taking pictures of families playing around at a carnival, so I didn’t take any.
The parks in the city center, near where I saw the carnival, were really beautiful for walking around, the flowers were out, and the sunset was nice. I ate my falafel in the park and enjoyed the setting sun.
I slept in my car outside the city, figuring I was less likely to be bothered. It was only 1 day in Bucharest, but it was a good one.
From there, I tried to drive over to the border of Moldova, thinking I’d pass through there and into Ukraine to go to Odessa. Unfortunately, I was missing a document for my car that they wanted, so I had to turn around. From there, it was through Romania and into Bulgaria.
